Much of this emerges from acoustic architecture, when a rare moment - an image, a perspective, an idea - shines brightly enough to elicit extraction from the architectural process. These chosen moments can be explored and developed; they are never ready at first.

Silent surfaces and images point to a realm that is not accessible with microphones or loudspeakers. In this realm acoustic seems to collapse into visual, and the two together become indistinguishable from form, sometimes energy. The nanoscale wavelengths of light can teach us magnitudes about the human scale wavelengths of sound.

Even so, neither light nor sound are the primary force behind this artwork. Form, energy, structure. . . time. I’m seeking an understanding of this, and vast blues are still in play.
